About the Service
The Health and Safety File is a document provided to the client or end user that highlights key health and safety risks. It helps inform those responsible for the structure about potential hazards during future maintenance, repairs, or construction work.
A typical health and safety folder we prepare would include:
- A brief overview of the work completed
- Details of any remaining hazards and how they were managed (e.g., asbestos, contaminated land)
- Key structural information, such as bracing or stored energy sources
- Safe load limits for floors and roofs, especially where heavy equipment can't be used
- Information on hazardous materials used (e.g., pesticides, coatings)
- Instructions for removing or dismantling equipment or plant
- Health and safety guidance for cleaning or maintaining the structure
- Location and details of significant services, including underground cables and gas supplies
- As-built drawings and information on the structure and its equipment, including safe access routes and fire safety features.
