A Construction Phase Plan (CPP) is required for all UK construction projects. When more than one contractor is involved, a Principal Designer and Principal Contractor must be appointed. Projects exceeding 30 working days, involving over 20 people, or requiring more than 500 person-days must be notified to the HSE before starting. If appointed as a Principal Contractor, we can assist you in fulfilling your obligations under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
Liaising with the Client and Principal Designer on issue of H&S, client overlap and design
Collecting and assessing pre-construction information provided by the client or Principal Designer (PD)
Assisting with competence and pre qualification questionnaires
Reviewing method statements and risk assessments prior to submission and distribution
Reviewing competence and quality of sub contractors
Providing accident reporting facility
Carrying out workshops and training sessions for contractors staff on compliance with CDM regulations and health and safety management and arrangements
Development of the site safety management system including the site waste management traffic/logistics/fire plan, induction systems, record keeping, contractor control and consultation
Carrying out regular, independent monitoring of the project through inspections and audits of both the safety management system and the behaviours and safety standards of the site staff.
Providing management reports following each inspection
Providing statistical reports on a monthly or quarterly basis and at the end of the project
Drafting or reviewing the Construction Phase Plan prior to submission to the client/PD
